Barack Obama wants CNN correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta as his new Surgeon General, according to the Washington Post. He's reportedly going to accept the position. 

Although Obama passed on picking Mayor Shirley Franklin to lead HUD, we can't help but think that Gupta won't be the last Atlantan in the President-elect's Cabinet.

Now that New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson has withdrawn from consideration to be Commerce Secretary, maybe Obama will do the smart thing and tap Atlanta-based syndicated consumer advocate and new Headline News personality Clark Howard for the job.
