A burger craving shouldn’t be ignored. When it strikes, it can be sudden. So we want you to be prepared. We’ve done the hard research to round up some inventive interpretations on this American favorite around town to satisfy your beef needs.

RI RA IRISH PUB
WHY WE LOVE IT: Between the buns, the beef sits pretty, topped with melted cheese, crispy onion rings and Guinness barbecue sauce at $10. Done.

ANN’S SNACK BAR
WHY WE LOVE IT: It’s ridiculous in the best way possible. Don’t be intimidated when you approach your “ghetto burger,” complete with chili, bacon, cheese and the usual burger suspects. Gluttony is welcome. You’ll want to hug yourself for this one.

P’CHEEN
WHY WE LOVE IT: Harissa aioli is the glue of the grilled Angus and portabella creation found at the cozy neighborhood haunt. Live beats are spun on weekends. Get involved.

MUSS AND TURNER’S
WHY WE LOVE IT: The beef is organic and local. The vibe is relaxed and friendly, but the burger is top quality at a price that won’t hurt your feelings: $11.

BRICK STORE PUB
WHY WE LOVE IT: This Decatur mainstay rocks you with a succulent, freshly seasoned, build it with the basics version at $7. Adding a quality brew to the mix will be painless, as the beer list is quite large.

FLIP
WHY WE LOVE IT: Flip takes the burger places it doesn’t don’t usually go. Picky and adventurous palates can perch at the same table and find a burger that pleases in a hip yet chill atmosphere.

SERPAS
WHY WE LOVE IT: If bacon brings a burger together for you, Chef Scott Serpas delivers in the form of twin beef patties, applewood bacon and red wine dressing.

BOCADO
WHY WE LOVE IT: Get comfortable with their burger stack on the Westside. It’s a fun, stylish place packing big flavor from Chef Todd Ginsberg.

BLT STEAK
WHY WE LOVE IT: Modern and bold reconcile with classic and delicious when the Bayley Hazen Blue Burger touches table in the sleek dining room at BLT Steak.

Looks like a good guide to burgers. A few we haven't tried, but ned to. current favorite is Brick Store Pub.
